Position Description

The Senior Production Operative is responsible for producing ExoVasc Implants, their sterilisation, packaging and shipping in accordance with the processes described in the Exstent Quality System. Part of this work will be performed in a clean manufacturing area within the Exstent facility.

The Senior Production Operative is a full-time position and will be based within the Tewkesbury office of Exstent Limited. The Senior Production Operative will report to the Production Manager.

Detailed Responsibilities

  1. Adherence to Exstent’s manufacturing processes required to manufacture an ExoVasc implant:
    1. Cutting fabric to the required dimensions from the roll goods or panels, pinning, tacking, machine hemming to specifically sized rectangular textile sheets.
    2. Closing said sheets into tubular blanks with a chain stitch (using a Complett 250L) cup seamer.
    3. Washing and drying the fabric blank and supplied 3D printed ExoVasc former.
    4. Printing labelling and documentation to be packed with the ExoVasc device.
    5. Packaging and sterilisation of the Exovasc former and implant.
    6. Shipment of the ExoVasc implant.
  2. Follows Exstent’s procedures with regards to the maintenance and operation of the clean room and equipment used in the manufacture of ExoVasc implant.
  3. Observing all necessary instructions in respect of clothing, shoes, coveralls and hand washing to safely work within the Exstent Clean Manufacturing area. (Full training will be provided.)
  4. Ensuring that all manufacturing documentation is completed and stored in the correct location.
  5. Liaise with customers and distributors to receive and process orders and patient data required for the production of the ExoVasc implant.
  6. Monitoring the equipment used as well as alerting the Production Manager and Production Lead to any maintenance issues or supply requirements.
  7. Works with the Production Lead, Managing Director and Production Manager on manufacturing continuous improvement activities.

Personnel Specification

  1. A focussed and positive personality with an understanding of manufacturing processing techniques able to work enthusiastically and effectively within a small team engaged in a demanding but particularly worthwhile activity.
  2. Prior experience of working in a controlled manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
  3. Sewing machinist skills would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
  4. A good level of computer literacy, as the roles requires completing data input files, filing patient data and manipulating digital images.
  5. A high level of conscientiousness and an ability to work with attention to detail.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the in-house team.
