Bio-Bentall operation

The Bio-Bentall operation is a variation of the Bentall operation which replaces the patient’s own aortic valve with a biological valve. This avoids the need for anticoagulation. The downside is the limited life of a biological valve that will likely need replacing.

The biological valve may be a natural homographic or xenographic valve, or one manufactured from natural tissues.

We develop medical devices that manage aortic dilation and minimise the risk of aortic dissection.
