Aortic valve disease is a type of heart valve disease. It means the aortic valve does not function correctly.
Symptoms include breathlessness, chest discomfort, faintness, tiredness or weakness with no obvious cause.
An example of aortic valve disease is aortic stenosis.
The conditions can sometimes be managed with lifestyle changes and/or medication. At some point in the disease progression, surgical treatment is needed. The Ross-PEARS procedure is one option for surgical treatment of this condition.
