CT

CT imaging (or X-ray transmission computer aided tomography) is the most accurate of the medical imaging modalities frequently used for imaging the aorta, coronary arteries etc. This requires patients to be given an intra-venous dose of contrast agent which then gives very high-quality images of blood flow within the aorta and heart.

CT measurements should not be compared to other imaging modalities such as trans thoracic echocardiography (TTE or echo) or cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI or MRI).
