Exstent founder Tal Golesworthy delivered a keynote lecture at BioMedEng26 last week, hosted at The Spine in Liverpool.
The annual biomedical engineering conference brings together students, researchers and academics working across the development of medical technologies, from early-stage design and testing through to clinical evaluation and regulation.
Tal’s keynote explored the development of PEARS (Personalised External Aortic Root Support) and ExoVasc®, drawing on more than two decades of experience since the first ExoVasc® procedure in 2004.
For an audience focused on biomedical engineering, the session offered a practical example of how an identified clinical need can progress through engineering development, clinical use and medical device regulation.
Today, more than 1,850 ExoVasc® procedures have been performed worldwide across more than 40 centres.
