A paper, Redo Cardiac Surgery After Personalized External Aortic Root Support, by Makoto Hibino, Tarek Malas, Paul Cullen and Marc Gillinov has been published in JACC: Case Reports.

The paper considers the case of a 36-year-old man with Marfan syndrome who underwent mitral surgery after personalized external aortic root support operation. Redo surgery was performed without aortic cannulation (with right axillary cannulation and retrograde cardioplegia). Surgical findings revealed unique aortic changes with adventitial growth and vasa vasorum, without visible mesh. The paper notes that further research is crucial to optimize surgical strategies and outcomes.

You can read the paper on the JACC: Case Reports website.
