May 24th, 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the first PEARS surgery carried out by John Pepper on Tal’s Marfanoid aorta.

Twenty years on, Tal’s aorta remains dimensionally stable with no dilation nor aortic regurgitation (as evidenced by annual MRI scans).

PEARS surgery is now available in over 40 surgical centres across the UK, Europe and Australia and used to treat patients from pre-teen to over 80 years with aortic dilation or as part of the free standing root Ross procedure.

Please raise a glass on Friday May 24th to celebrate 1,024 lives that have benefitted from having the ExoVasc® PEARS implant!
