In a successful operation yesterday at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, the 50th patient received their ExoVasc Personalised External Aortic Root support. For surgeon Mr Ulrich Rosendahl this is a busy time, for a further two patients are scheduled to receive their ExoVasc supports later this month. Commenting on reaching the 50th patient milestone, Tal Golesworthy – the inventor and first recipient of the device – said: “This has been a longer journey than I anticipated, but I am delighted that 50 patients have now benefited from this less invasive procedure and can now lead more normal lives without the worry of anticoagulant therapy or the need for a further operation.”
